A longtime mustang science teacher was arrested after being accused of committing s*x crimes against a former student of the Mustang Public School. Raymond Thomas Garner, 60, was arrested from his residence on February 1st.
A school resource officer made the authorities aware of Garner’s inappropriate relationship with a former student on January 27. Garner is accused of first-degree r*pe, indecent acts to a child, and forcible sodomy.
The investigation revealed that Garner and a female student had s*xual contact hundreds of times from 2014-2017. According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), the alleged acts occurred both in school and at Garner’s residence in Oklahoma City.
Mustang Public Schools Supt. Charles Bradley released the following statement to announce Garner’s suspension and arrest
“Today, one of our employees at Mustang High School was arrested and accused of inappropriate conduct with a former student. At this time, the employee has been suspended. An active investigation is going on, which will limit the release of further information from our side.”
Following his arrest, Raymond Thomas Garner was transferred to the Mustang city jail.
Mustang Police Chief Rob Groseclose appreciated the alleged victim’s courage to come forward in the following words, “When a teacher who has influence over a student’s future is s*xually violating her, it can be even more difficult to come forward. Because of her courage, an alleged s*xual predator is in custody and can’t harm anyone else.”
Mustang police and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating whether the alleged relationship between Garner and his former student continued after 2018 and if there are more victims.

When the authorities asked the victim about her relationship with Raymond Thomas Garner, she said it was an unwanted, longtime s*xual relationship.

Garner has been suspended from Mustang Public School. According to his LinkedIn profile, Garner has been an employee at Mustang High School since August 1990.
