
Shelby Melton Obituary, Death Cause – An unexpected death occurred to Shelby Lynn Melton, age 26, who resided in Spencer in the morning of Sunday, July 30, 2023 due to an automobile accident. Her parents, Allen Melton and Tonya (Flinchum) Ernest, welcomed her into the world on October 4, 1996 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Owen Valley High School was Shelby’s alma mater before she transferred. She provided excellent care for her grandmother, Cathy, while still being a devoted mother to her son, Corbin. Shelby enjoyed spending her time riding horses, going fishing, having campfires, and drinking beer.
Shelby is survived by her son, Corbin James Kelley; Corbin”s father, Robby Kelley; parents, Tonya (Jim) Ernest and Allen (Angie) Melton; siblings, Casey (Justin) Meyer, Sidney (Hunter) McLain, Kyle Boles, Lukius Hughes, Devon Murello and Brentley Melton; niece, Kentley Meyer; nephews, Jace Flick, Ira McLain and Cedrick McLain; grandmothers, Cathy Couch, Teresa McGee and Denise Spradlin; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Her maternal great grandparents, Juanita and Frank Moorefield, passed away before she was born. On Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at one o’clock in the afternoon, funeral services will be performed at the Christian Life Center in Spencer, with Pastor Bob Beltz serving as the officiant.
After the service, burial will take place in Chambersville Cemetery. At the Christian Life Center, the family will greet friends on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m., and on Tuesday beginning at 12 p.m. and continuing until the time of the service. Donations in memory of the deceased can be sent to the family cared for by the funeral home.
